Motorite Racing’s Evan Hutchison and Danie Stassen and team-mates Nick and son Ryan Harper were made to work hard for their fifth and sixth places in the inaugural Nkomazi 400, round two of the Donaldson South African Cross Country Championship, which was held in the Mpumalanga Lowveld on Friday and Saturday.

 The Motorite Racing team of Evan Hutchison and Danie Stassen and the father-and-son combination of Nick and Ryan Harper will be looking to build on their good start to the season in the recent RFS Magalies 400 in North West Province when they line up their BAT Venom special vehicles for the Nkomazi 400 in Mpumalanga on Saturday (April 13).

 A convincing victory in the Gold 400 in the West Rand of Gauteng on Saturday saw Motorite Racing’s Evan Hutchison and Danie Stassen deservedly crowned 2012 Absa South African Off Road Champions in the special vehicle category.

 Motorite Racing’s Evan Hutchison and Danie Stassen (BAT Venom) survived a demanding and dusty penultimate round of the Absa Off Road Car Championship in the eastern Free State this weekend to complete the Human Auto 400 in second place in the special vehicle category and extend their lead in the championship.

Motorite Racing’s BAT Venom and Revo V6 4x4 will carry a message of support for rhino conservation when the team takes on the challenge of the Sun City 400, round five of the Absa Off Road Car Championship, in North West Province on July 27 and 28.

Gaborone, Saturday – Former South African champion Evan Hutchison and Danie Stassen today won a free entry, worth around R250 000, into next year’s Dakar Rally in South America.

Hutchison and Stassen, in the Motorite BAT Venom, won the Special Vehicle category on the Toyota Kalahari Botswana 1000 Desert Race and in the process won the inaugural Dakar Challenge. The Botswana event was one of four races worldwide counting towards the Dakar Challenge with the prize for the winners a free entry into the world’s toughest motorsport event.
