True sportsmanship from a world-class team
Tuesday 17 April 2012
During the prologue of the Toyota Dealer 400 last week Friday, we (Hermann and Wichard sullwald) picked up a serious problem in the gearbox of the Elegant Fuel Porter. After scavenging for spare parts up and down the service park it was clear that no one had the necessary parts for us to rectify the problem. In a selfless act of sportsmanship, the Motorite Racing Team offered us the use of their spare gearbox, despite the fact that we were competing in the same class of the national off-road championship and could prove to cost them valuable points.
Since their entry into off-road racing in 2005 they have proved to be a great asset, and have played a big role in the success and growth of the off-road championship, where they currently set the benchmark in how they go about their racing as a team.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the Motorite Racing squad and should the opportunity ever present itself, we would be honored to repay the favour.
